HerbNook Privacy Policy
HerbNook respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the HerbNook iOS application handles information when you use its plant collection, care logging, plant library, journal, profile, photo, and reminder features.
1. Information We Handle
HerbNook is designed to work locally on your device and does not require an account. Depending on the features you use, information stored by the app may include:
- Your display name and profile image.
- Plant names, varieties, purchase dates, and plant photos that you choose to add.
- Care records such as watering, misting, fertilizing, and optional notes.
- Journal entries and photos that you choose to create or attach.
- Your favorite library plants and appearance preferences.
- Your reminder preference for local care notifications.
HerbNook does not access your contacts, location, device identifiers, IP address, browsing history, or usage analytics.
2. How Information Is Used
The information listed above is used only to provide the features you request inside HerbNook, including displaying your plants, organizing care history, showing journal entries, remembering your preferences, and scheduling local reminders when you enable them.
3. Sharing and Disclosure
HerbNook does not sell, rent, trade, or share your locally stored plant information, care records, journal entries, profile information, or photos with third parties. The app does not use advertising, analytics, social sign-in, or third-party tracking SDKs.
Information may be disclosed only when required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful governmental request. Because HerbNook does not operate a server for your app data, the app does not maintain a remote copy of that information.
4. Storage and Security
Your HerbNook data is stored in the app's private on-device storage and protected by the security features provided by the operating system. Photos selected for plants, journal entries, or your profile remain in the app's private storage and are not uploaded by HerbNook.
No electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and keeping any device backups secure.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage your information directly in the app. You may:
- Edit or remove an individual plant.
- Delete individual journal entries or select multiple entries for deletion.
- Clear care history and journal activity from Settings.
- Change or remove your display name, profile image, appearance, and reminder preferences.
- Delete the HerbNook app to remove its local app data from your device, subject to your device's backup settings.
If you contact us by email, we will use the information in your message only to respond to your request and handle related support matters.
6. System Features
HerbNook may use operating-system features when you choose to use them, such as the photo picker for selecting images and local notifications for care reminders. These features are controlled by the operating system and require your permission where applicable. HerbNook does not send the selected photos or reminder content to a HerbNook server.
7. Children's Privacy
HerbNook is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through HerbNook, please contact us so that we can review the request.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or privacy practices change. The revised version will be published with a new update date and will apply when it is made available.
